The record begins with preservation.
Digital forensics examines electronic data while preserving its evidentiary integrity. E-Hounds analysts are court-qualified experts, with more than 250 qualifications across state and federal matters. Some have more than 25 years of practice.
Acquisition is documented from the start: forensic imaging where appropriate, cryptographic hashing, and a chain of custody that follows the evidence through testimony. We preserve original media and document the methods used to acquire and examine it.
Reconstruct what happened.
Dates and timestamps
File-system, application, and other system artifacts help establish when an event occurred. We compare those records rather than relying on a device's displayed clock or a single timestamp.
Financial records
Budgets, cash flows, and accounting records document business activity. We examine those records, recover authorized access to protected financial software where possible, and preserve the basis for our findings.
Data integrity
We examine suspected changes, identify available evidence of their source, and document what the record supports. Original media and the chain of custody remain part of the examination record.
Deleted records and historical activity
Our work includes locating deleted documents, recovering artifacts of prior system use, and examining records from legacy mainframes and financial systems through modern cloud platforms.
Experience in federal matters.
E-Hounds has supported receivership and enforcement-driven matters across Florida and the Eastern Seaboard, including proceedings arising from SEC, CFTC, and FTC actions. We have assisted federal law enforcement and are registered on SAM.gov for federal contracting.
The work has ranged from servers recovered from years in commercial storage to mobile devices recovered from water, across receivership, fraud, and sensitive criminal matters.
Scoping the engagement.
Describe the evidence you have, where it is held, and the questions you need answered. Those details help us identify the preservation and examination work the matter requires.
